CTET 2018 Details Notification in Simple English

The Central Board of Secondary Education will be conducting the 11th edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on 16/09/2018 (Sunday). The CTET 2018 will be conducted in 92 cities all over the country. The detailed Information Bulletin containing details of examination, syllabus, eligibility criteria, examination fee, examination cities and important dates are available here.

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted by CBSE to recruit eligible candidates in the primary schools. There are two types of primary schools; Lower primary and Upper primary. Therefore CBSE will conduct CTET 2018 for both the categories.

The aspiring candidates are requested to download the Information Bulletin from this website or read this page carefully before applying.

The aspiring candidates have to apply online only through CTET website www.ctet.nic.in. You can not apply through other means. I will discuss the application process step by step here.

 

Important Dates for CTET 2018:

  • The online application process will start from 22/06/2018 (Friday) onwards.
  • The last date for submitting online application is 19/07/2018 (Thursday)
  • Fee payment last date is 21-07-2018 (Saturday) before3.30.p.m.
  • CTET 2018 Exam Date is 16/09/2018 (Sunday).

CTET 2018 Age Limit

CTET Minimum Age Limit: 18 Years
CTET Maximum Age Limit: there is No maximum age restriction

 

Minimum Qualifications for the Classes I-V ( Primary Stage)

1. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% MARKS. and
2. passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma course in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

1. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% MARKS. and
2. passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma course in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). this diploma course should be in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations 2002.

OR

1. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% MARKS. and
2. passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B El Ed).

OR

Qualifications for the Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage)

1. Graduation. and
2. passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (in whatever name known).

OR

1. Graduation with at least 50% marks. and
2. passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B Ed).

OR

1. Graduation with at least 45% MARKS. and
2. passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B Ed). This should be in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

OR

1. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% MARKS. and
2. passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B El Ed).

OR

1. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% MARKS. and
2. passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B SC Ed or B A Ed/B SC Ed.

OR

1. Graduation with at least 50% marks. and
2. passed or appearing in 1-year B Ed. (Special Education)*

 

Educational Qualification for CTET 2018:

Reserved categories candidates will get up to 5% discount in the qualifying MARKS.

Diploma/Degree Course in Teacher Education: Recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) or Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

Training: A person with D Ed (Special Education) or qualification shall undergo, after appointment an NCTE recognized 6-month Special Programme in Elementary Education.

The minimum qualifications referred above is for the teachers of Languages, SOCIAL Studies/SOCIAL Science, Mathematics, Science etc.
The minimum qualification norms for Physical Education teachers referred to the NCTE Regulation shall be applicable.
For teachers of Art Education, Craft Education, Home Science, Work Education: the existing eligibility norms prescribed by the State Governments and other school managements shall be applicable. (NCTE lays down the minimum qualifications in respect of such teachers.)

A person who is studding any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI) specified in the NCTE Notification shall be eligible. The notification was published on dated 29th July, 2011.

These are the main Eligibility criteria for CTET 2018.

The candidate should check his/her eligibility before applying.A candidate may present in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. The eligibility shall be verified later by the concerned recruiting agency / appointing authority.
